“By Allah! I love you”

The prophet ﷺ held the hand of Muaz ibn-e-Jabal and Said “By Allah! I love you” Imagine yourself being in that position that the Man whom you love and you haven’t seen him says to you I LOVE YOU. How would you feel?

He then went on saying “I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer” and then he taught him this Dua.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ، وَشُكْرِكَ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

” O Allah, Help me in remembering you, being grateful to you and worshipping you in an excellent manner”

What a beautiful dua!  And see how he taught everything in order:

  1. If I would remember Allah, then I would always be mindful that everything I have is granted by Him as a favor from Him and I DON’T DESERVE any of this.
  2. This feeling that I DON’T DESERVE and I have been granted out of Allah’s mercy, would make me feel indebted and thus I would feel obliged and thus would be grateful to Him.
  3. When I would be grateful, I would have the best Khushu in my prayer and in all other ibadaat like fasting and etc and I would be doing it from the CORE OF MY HEART instead of just fulfilling an obligation as a mere ritual.

What a treasure. The more I study the more my belief is affirmed that I we only find treasure in the ayaat or the teachings of the prophet ﷺ what we understand relatively deeply. The rest is yet to be explored. We can never truly acknowledge the Azmat of the Quran and the sayings of our beloved messenger SAW. Just think for a moment how much he loved us you and me without even seeing us. The question do we love him back the way he deserves to be?

Our purpose is to build solutions that remove barriers preventing people from doing their best work.
